Dr Catherine Millington-Sanders is Co-Founder and National Clinical Lead for Difficult Conversations multi-professional interactive training. She is a senior facilitator and co-led the design and development of the curriculum and SCARS© communication framework.

She is a practising GP in Surrey with a special interest in communication skills as well as death dying and grief, for over 15 years. She is a clinical commissioner in South West London and educationalist with 7 years experience as a specialty doctor in palliative medicine.

She is the RCGP & Marie Curie National End of Life Care Clinical Champion and clinically led the development of the RCGP & Marie Curie Daffodil Standards – UK General Practice Standards for Advanced Serious Illness and End of Life Care.

During the pandemic, She formed and co-chairs the RCGP & End of Life Care Partners Think Tank that supported development of ‘What Matters Most’ resources.

She sits on the Compassionate Communities UK board, supporting the development of compassionate and supportive networks within our communities.

She is both passionate and committed to developing Compassionate Communities, implementing the Compassionate City Charter and facilitating the development of compassionate, supportive networks within our communities.
